O microbioma do tracto genital: colmatando o fosso entre a moda e realidade clínica

Nos últimos anos tem havido um enorme interesse no estudo do microbioma humano, não sendo o tracto genital exceção. No entanto, ainda não se conseguiu compreender totalmente o microbioma normal e anormal do trato genital. Apesar do conhecimento crescente, o diagnóstico das vaginites continua a ser maioritariamente empírico e muitas intervenções, como a utilização de probióticos, não são sustentadas por evidência de qualidade.
